Celebrating the Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup Win with Unique Panther Tattoos at Electric Street Tattoo
At Electric Street Tattoo, we pride ourselves on being South Florida’s best traditional tattoo parlor, and this year, we’re thrilled to celebrate the Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup championship win in a special way. Our talented artists have been creating some incredible Panthers tattoos, and one artist, in particular, has been making waves with his unique style. Meet CJ Ugarte, the mastermind behind our stunning embroidery-style panther patch tattoos.
Embroidery style tattoos, also known as patch tattoos, are a fascinating and unique niche in the tattoo world. These tattoos are designed to look like embroidered patches, giving the illusion that they are stitched onto the skin rather than inked. This style combines the traditional art of embroidery with modern tattoo techniques, creating a three-dimensional effect that makes the designs “pop” off the skin1.
What Makes Embroidery Tattoos Unique:
Three-Dimensional Effect: Unlike most tattoos that appear flat, embroidery tattoos use shading and color layering to create a realistic, textured look. This makes them stand out as if they were actual patches sewn onto the skin.
2. Detailed Designs: The designs often mimic classic embroidered patches, including elements like loose threads and intricate stitching patterns. This requires a high level of skill and attention to detail from the tattoo artist1
Finding Skilled Artists
Finding a talented artist who can execute embroidery tattoos well can be challenging. This style demands a deep understanding of light, shadow, and color layering to achieve the desired three-dimensional effect.
CJ’s Expertise
Artists like CJ, who are known for their exceptional work in this niche, are highly sought after. Their ability to create lifelike, detailed embroidery tattoos sets them apart in the tattoo community. If you’re looking for an artist who can deliver high-quality embroidery tattoos, it’s worth seeking out those with a proven track record in this unique style.

Cool Animal Tattoos
We LOVE animal tattoos here on Electric Street!
Animals speak to our nature, to our inner animal. They tap into our spiritual nature and have done so since the beginning on time.
This is evidenced across the board in every culture across the globe dating back millennia. You can look at Egyptian hieroglyphics as a perfect example.
It’s only natural that animals have always been part of the Tattoo landscape.
From the military to tattoo prison culture animal tattoos are used to express power and authority.
So if you find yourself in doubt, try connecting with your inner animal. I think you’ll find a wealth of tattoo reference just waiting to be discovered.
I’m conclusion here’s a shortlist of animals in my personal tattoo collection
- Eagle on my chest
- Two wolves
- Tiger on my ribs
- several snakes
- black panther back piece
- countless birds (swallows & sparrows)
- Pharaohs horses on my stomach
- shark on side of my neck
etc etc you get the point… 😎
Cat Tattoos
Cats get lots of love here at Electric Street Tattoo to say the least.
Panthers, tigers, cheetahs, lions and leopards…
WE LOVE THEM ALL
We believe that inside every cat is a fierce hunter.
Even your more domesticated house cat is a warrior and hunter at its core.
The big cats have a long standing relationship with tattoos. Since ancient times they have been seen as protectors from evil and even thought to be guides into the afterlife! Pretty cool right?
And so it only makes sense that the world of tattooing adopted them long ago and never looked back.
Sure enough dogs are mans best friend and we do get requests for dog tattoos as well, mostly portrait style tattoos from dog owners who want to immortalize their four legged companions. Nothing like feline tattoos though.
Tigers, in particular, are sexy.
Ferocious, sensual and breathtaking.
Or take the lion for example. We aspire to mimic its stoic nature. It’s no wonder the popularity of our furry friends continues to surge year after year.
These god like creatures have mesmerized humans since way back when we lived in caves. A deep growl in the night was cause for panic.
In modern day the closest we get to a big cat would be at the city zoo, from behind plenty of thick glass or a cushy moat. Or, if you’re like us, at the tattoo shop where you can see your favorite tattoo artist breath life into one of these beautiful felines with needle and ink.
The Egyptians thought of felines as royalty. To the extreme that mummified cats have been found alongside their human counterparts.
Cats, both big and small, are wild and sensual, They are uninhibited and sexually powerful.
They exhibit leadership qualities which make them very attractive to tattoo collectors who are self defined as leaders who are not prone to ‘following the leader’.
If any of the above resonates with you then a big cat tattoo might be what you’re looking for.
Regardless of race, religion and cultural background, the feline transcends and captures the essence and feeling of raw power and energy.
Ultimately, they make for badass tattoos.

Tattoo Shop Near Me
As the owner of a tattoo shop it’s important for me to know where our clients are coming from. I’ll admit this has been an area of weakness for me in the past. I’ve only recently started to realize that as a business owner I have an obligation to wear many different hats. What does this mean exactly? Well, for me, it means that sometimes I get to be a tattoo artist and other times I get to be whatever the shop needs me to be. And this can be damn near anything lol.
Something I read a long time ago,
”Some ppl work ON their business, some ppl work in it”. It’s a fine line but one that should not be ignored. I’d like to think that I can do both depending on circumstance.
Twenty years ago our clients found us mostly through word of mouth. Word of mouth and referrals kept us busy and fed. This was also before ‘Smart phones’. We were all carrying flip phones back then and life was simpler. It’s safe to assume that most of our tattoo clients were local to our area and either heard about us through a friend, family member, or simply by driving past our shop on their way somewhere.
The world has changed.
So how are folks finding goods and services these days? Well, a large portion of our foot traffic, in particular, can be attributed to the one and only GOOGLE. That’s right folks, the worlds largest search engine is at least partially responsible for how people are getting tattooed these days. Dollar for dollar definitely the undisputed champ!
A close second would be Yelp. More of an online web directory, Yelps platform is used by both businesses and consumers alike.
It doesn’t surprise me anymore when our clients mention they found Electric Street Tattoo on Yelp. People shop different these days and tattoos are no exception. On Yelp you can browse tattoo shop listings and compare locally. More importantly, you can browse through reviews and see what experiences other ppl have had with these tattoo shops.
Keep in mind folks, reviews aren’t an exact science. Like with most things there will be your fair share of bad apples who may abuse these review platforms so take it all in with a grain of salt. It’s my feeling that if a tattoo shop has been around long enough and been able to sustain a 4.8 star rating or above, you’ll probably be in good hands. Yelps terms of use and review guidelines might even be a little more strict than googles but they are both very clear on the do’s and dont’s. And while a lot of your Yelp reviews will be featured for the public to see many of them will be redirected towards the ‘unrecommended’ section never to be seen or heard from again, regardless of their authenticity.
So what is the most popular keyword search for ppl looking to get tattooed??? It’s very simply, ‘Tattoo shops near me’
Yep, that’s it lol.
Folks just want to go somewhere close. They don’t want to drive and they don’t seem to necessarily care about referrals either. They want convenience. So it seems to me that the word of mouth and tattoo referrals we used to depend on twenty years ago are now in the form of Google, Yelp, Bing, Yahoo etc. I would even say that social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and the like make up for a very small amount of gross revenue. It’s been said tongue in cheek, Facebook is for business, Instagram is for fame.
I disagree.
Google is for business, who needs fame 😉
Tattoo Traditions
Here at Electric Street, we value and appreciate the art and history of tattooing. Tattooing has been around since as early as 3370 BC! Many different countries and cultures have used tattoos for different reasons; such as showing status, representing a tribe, honoring a lost friend or lover, or simply showing off ones freedom.
Tattooing is a tradition.
Tattooing through the 20th century gave way for evolution and growth in style, technique, and equipment. Through the 1910’s - 1930’s, tattoos were mainly found on sailors or sideshow performers at the circus as it was not something very common to see. In the 1940’s, the pioneer of traditional tattooing was on the rise. Normal Keith Collins, better known as “Sailor Jerry”, changed the basis of tattooing in America. He added color to his tattoos which made them stand out. His nautical and military themed designs were very popular amongst those in the service. Eventually, people who were just proud to be Americans were getting patriotic Jerry style tattoos. Tattoos became a symbol of strength and masculinity but was not widely accepted as it was still given a negative social stigma. Over time, tattoos became more popular and more accepted in society. Machines were build better and stronger, inks were made brighter and more diverse, and designs got more intricate. There have been many men that paved the way for modern tattooing and through them, we believe in keeping the tradition alive. We are simply standing on the shoulders of giants.
